Dog Show鈥痠s a celebration of human-dog relationships across geography and time. The exhibition鈥considers the histories of dogs in the Circumpolar North, their importance to lifeways and culture in the region, and the role of dogs in contemporary life across the US as pets, helpmates, and family members.鈥疌ontemporary and historical artworks, cultural belongings, archival images, and ephemera from Canada, Greenland, Norway, and the Lower 48 showcase the ways dogs have shaped our place as well as our society, shedding light on the myriad ways we understand affective and relational bonds between people and animals. Family-friendly interactives, outdoor art installations and experiences, and robust programming will accompany the in-gallery experience of鈥Dog Show.
with contributions from exhibition curators, artists, and additional voices: Francesca Du Brock, Rachel Boesenberg, Liv Bugge, Bathsheba Demuth, Glenn Gear, John Hagen, Patrice Aphrodite Helmar, and Nelson White.
