Stewardship

Use this booklet with 4th-12th grade students to learn about stewardship and how it is integral to the Dena鈥檌na culture. Objects and images from the museum鈥檚 collection illustrate the Dena鈥檌na people鈥檚 strong connection to place. Activity prompts ask students to reflect on their relationship to and observations of the natural world.

Topics include Dena鈥檌na bird hunting, salmon fishing, bear hunting, potlatching, and place names.

This booklet was developed in partnership with . This residential, place-based outdoor education program for 5th grade students takes place on the traditional homelands of the Dena鈥檌na people.
